It seems like just last night I was sitting in the den of mom’s condo in Florida dreaming of starting my own furniture refurbishing business. I remember reading an email from one of my friends suggesting I start a blog but I had no idea what she was talking about. Blog? What’s a blog?
So here I am at the end of the year looking back at all that’s transpired since then. I scoured the area high and low searching for furniture, built a small workshop, spent thousands on tools and supplies then got busy working.
I asked my sister for help and together we unveiled our creations at Art in the Park in Holland, Michigan the first weekend in August.

Wow, you’ve been busy this year – I’m glad things are going so well for you. I started doing something similar in September…but I also do home accessories. Your pieces are gorgeous, thanks for sharing this great post! Best of luck to you in 2012!
Shelly, you have been a BUSY girl! All of your pieces are amazing! You do such a great job on restoration, repairs, painting and creating! I think your red buffet was one of the first pieces I saw on a link from you! That was so creative! I love the Provence dresser and the table, chair and bench set is awesome! I love each piece! I wish I lived closer! You have some amazing pieces I would love to purchase! Happy New Year!
Hi Shelly — love your work. My favourites would be the beautiful blue chest, small parlour table, & the gorgeous red console.
Absolutely beautiful work and a great story too! I’ll be following along. Can’t wait to see more! Happy New Year!
Shelly I really feel like your pieces and pictures belong in a magazine! How have you liked having a space in a store? I just applied to a place and I’m waiting to see if they have an opening. Happy New Year friend!
Love what you have done over the last year! You have given me inspiration. You have a new follower now!
You have been a busy little bee this year! This was my first year to really work on furniture. But with two kids, my goals far outweighed my output! Hoping to get things kicked up a notch next year.
I see SO many wonderful pieces I couldn’t begin to tell you which one is a fav…you are a great inspiration!
Happy New Year,
XoXo,
Kristal

So many fabulous pieces, and it looks like you are well on your way to bigger and better things! Congratulations! Deb
Wow, you did all this in one year! I recently opened a booth, and I am always puzzled by what sells and what
sells and what doesn’t. I think the market is frickle, and the economy doesn’t help. but I do believe that there is a customer for every piece. You work is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing with Sunday’s Best.
Just ran across your blog and really love your work.. I have some similar tastes but you take AWESOME pictures! You are very talented.. Great job!
