Chalk & Clay Painted Furniture Selling Like Hotcakes!

Things are selling at the store left and right which means I need to kick it into overdrive to fill my space back up with new inventory.  Here’s some of the furniture that has recently sold.

Antique Dresser in Destin Gulf & Spring Hill Green

Vintage Wood Door from an old building in Kalamazoo

Solid Cedar Wood Hope Chest
(correction, misunderstanding – the cedar chest is still available)

Sassy Antique Buffet Renovation

Lots of other small things sold too
(most of which I Never Snapped Photos of)
Here’s a few I did get pictures of before they sold.
Green Accent Table
Check out the complete transformation here.
Parlor Table in Pittsburgh Gray & Hershey Brown

Vintage White Drum Table

I also have a double hold on this desk and chair combo.
Vintage Desk in Traverse City Cherry & Coordinating Chair
I put them on hold for someone overnight while he checks into having it shipping back to Northern Washington.  A few hours later, another couple walked into the store and put a back-up hold on the set in case the first one falls through.  Sales for paint and furniture have been crazy lately ~ I am truly blessed!
I have a garage full of projects but nothing is finished.  Since I can’t share any finished projects, I’ll give you some sneak peaks of what’s to come.
I’m really excited about the vintage buffet I’m working on.  I’d love to keep it here and use it for our bathroom vanity, but that would take a small miracle ~ I can’t even clear the dining room table.  How am I going to renovate the bathroom?  It would make a really cool bathroom vanity though!!  Just sayin!  I’ve painted it in Seattle Mist, Hershey Brown and Vintage White but I’ve still got a couple repairs to make and some finishing touches to  kick it up a notch:)
Sneak Peak ~ coming soon
I’m also working on a couple solutions to help me get organized with my business.  I needed storage for all my office supplies, so I refinished an old dresser in Old Ochre, Vintage White & Vermont Slate.
Sneak Peak ~ coming soon!
Sneak Peak of another Drum Table ~ coming soon!
There’s so much more, but I’m wiped!  Stay tuned & have a GREAT weekend!!!
PS – I was getting ready to shoot pictures for tonight’s post when my camera, which has not been focusing right for the longest time, finally conked out for good.
I need a new Nikon for shooting furniture; any recommendations?
If you’d like to paint your own furniture like this, now is a great time to try because I just received a large shipment of CeCe Caldwell’s new paint colors including:  California Gold, Johnston Daffodil (a buttery yellow), Traverse City Cherry (the best red ever), Cinco Bayou Moss (rich olive green), Portland Rose (pretty pastel pink), Kentucky Mint (gorgeous mint green), Pinkerington Violet (pastel purple), Texas Prairie (warm pastel green) and Mississippi Mud (beautiful caramel color).  Check them out here or order them online here or pick it up in West Michigan at our Shizzle Design booth at Not So Shabby here.  You’ll find our display along side our painted furniture and re-purposed vintage treasures.
A hui hou! ~ Shelly

  1. Shelly,

Yes, you are blessed, but you are also extremely talented and hard working! You DESERVE this success honey, don’t feel otherwise. I SO wish I could own a piece of your beautiful furniture!

I have a brand new Canon I could offer you!

  2. This is my first time visiting your blog. Your choices of color combinations are absolutely beautiful. You have phenomenal taste!

I haven’t tried Annie Sloan’s or Cee Cee Caldwell’s paints, but think I am going to have to jump on the bandwagon! I am more drawn to Cee Cee Caldwell’s colors. The Destin Green is my favorite. GORGEOUS!!

  3. Good for you you!! I just ordered some paint from you. So excited to see you selling it – my last purchase from someone else didn’t go so well. Took 4 weeks to get it and after multiple emails and phone calls they “found” my order and shipped it. Congrats and keep up the great work! 🙂

  4. So happy for you Shelly, I see how hard you work,,and with such beautiful results.
I love the buffet you did with the material or wallpaper on the front of the drawers?
    How did you seal it?
Love your posts, I always learn something! Let us know what camera you end up with…

  5. Oh, I’ve missed you and your beautiful projects so much! You really had me with the Destin Gulf in that first picture, but I Love! It! All!

Thanks for welcoming me back. I look forward to seeing you for Potpourri Friday!
