Antique Buffet Painted in Blue Montana Sky

I love the character of antique buffets when they have been painted.
You can create so many different looks when you paint them and they offer such a pretty focal point in a room.

I picked up another buffet recently and I KNEW how I wanted to paint it but something happened along the way.

The lines were similar to the other buffet I sold this spring.

I messed around with different ideas but it was looking too similar to the one I had done before ~ I wanted this one to have a personality of it’s own.

So I busted into some blue and painted over it.

I washed over it with white and was liking it but…

I still didn’t like the way the metal do-hickeys stood out on the doors so I layered some paint on them too to blend them in a bit.

We just dropped this piece off to Macatawa Bank in Byron Center.   They’re featuring Shizzle Design the month of August in the lobby of the Byron Center branch on 84th Street just East of Byron Center Avenue.
