Cute Little End Table Flip

We’ve been super busy with a new expansion going on right now at Shizzle Design but I did manage to do one quick flip the other day.  This post is so short and sweet, don’t blink or you’ll miss it ~ I’m REALLY tired tonight.

This table served as a work table during the past several furniture paint workshops taught here at my home but it was time this puppy made it’s way out of here.

After parading around the house with a base coat of CeCe Caldwell’s Virginia Chestnut the past few months, I finally finished it with a mix of CeCe Caldwell’s Omaha Ochre and American Paint Company’s Home Plate.  The top is painted in APC’s Freedom Road with a simple wet distress and a coat of Clear Wax.

I’m simply sharing the pictures today because I’m pooped!

    1. You should allow 30 days for a freshly painted and waxed to fully cure although it can feel ret-to-go almost immediately if you buff the wax right away. It still needs time to fully cure before it’s exposed to water… Even with that, I always recommend people care for their hand painted furniture in the same way you would a fine piece of wood furniture. Use coasters… I’m not following why you’d want to use a blow dryer on our wax; it’s already very soft.

      1. “Ret to go”? I havent heard that in like Forever. In Living Color, right? Shelly, you have GOT to slow down so e and take care of yourself or you are going to get sick. I wish you would. And hire someone to help you. Woman! You’re not a robot!

      2. I’d hire five people if I could afford it and would quit working in a blink if I won the lottery tomorrow. Even when I’m not working, I keep myself busy with everything. I have no idea where ret-to-go originated but I say it all the time, I think I got it from my husband.

  1. Love your little table. Poor little thing, getting cast aside to go to another home. She’s sure cute, love the style and way you made her pretty again. Don’t work too hard.
Is it starting to get cold up there yet? We live in western CO where it’s in 50’s during day, 30’s at night. Just that nice chill in the air. Love Fall weather. Happy days ahead.

    1. We’ve had a beautiful fall but the past few days have not been nice. The temps are only around 50 which would be fine but it’s been raining cats and dogs which chill me to the bone when everything is a damp cold. My aching joints make me feel as though I’m 100 years old on days like these. Praying for nicer weather soon… I love how this table turned out too. Can’t believe how long she wax buried under a drop cloth as all the other cute pieces came and went above her 😉
