This new paint is delicious and is nothing like anything we’ve ever offered
This new chalk paint from Old Town is a primer, paint and sealer rolled in one! It’s so smooth, rich and creamy, brushing on and leveling out beautifully. Your finished piece will be matte. I’ll share more details about this product but I’m getting so many requests for it already that I needed to at least do a sneak peek. Because I have also spent the past several months recovering both from my surgery and helping my sister through her cancer, I hand selected several local furniture painting artists to experiment with it. Everyone loves it! Not only do they love it, they’ve all ordered more.
So, as of 8.19.17 I have a handful of the most colors in stock. Email shizzledesign@gmail.com to get a jump on this new product as it will be a while before it’s on officially on our shelves. I will order more soon but my sister passed away so I need a little time to get it all together. I did add a Simply Finished line item on our Online Shizzle Shop so you can order online but you’ll need to specify the color you want. I shot a picture of the quarts I have on hand today. The colors are shown on the front of these labels.

It’s so cool that you don’t have to seal Simply Finished Paint!
Simply paint it on and you’re finished. I however decided that I wanted to bring out all the details of this piece using black wax. Because I ended up sealing it with wax, it would have made more sense to just use Old Town’s regular Chalk Style Paint because it’s more cost effective. Make sense?
If you’re going to seal it with a wax or a clear coat, use the regular Old Town Chalk Style Paint. If you want to simply paint and be done, then spend a few extra dollars and go for the Simply Finished Paint by Old Town Paints.

I scrubbed it in with my Vintiquities Wax Brush, feathered it out with the bristles then wiped back the excess with our new cloths
There’s not much more to say, it really is that easy to create this beautiful finish

Missing my sister Cathy who passed August 2nd, 2017
Hi Shelley I am so sorry to hear that your dear sister has passed away. I was thinking about you both on Wednesday as I was getting in the car for my husband’s oncology appointment.
So while standing in the driveway I sent a prayer up for you and the whole family.
I can’t imagine how difficult and painful your life has been these past few years. I wish there was a way to help lessen your burdens and pain. Please try to remember there are so many people praying for you, and wanting to help. Your Faithful followers are here for you! Give yourself the time you need to rest and heal, and know we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Shelly….I was so sad to hear about the passing of Cathy…I learned so much from the both of you! You both made me hit the vintage stores, seek out fun pieces of furniture and dust those paintbrushes off and get to painting! Your family are definitely in our prayers. Cathy was a super talented trailblazer and I have my painted pieces in my flat because I learned how to refurbish them from the best

Wanted to say I’m so sorry to hear about Cathy’s passing. She was a beautiful soul. I have hope that you will see her again – healthy and whole. Meantime, I pray for God to bring you and your family comfort in the love of friends and family and in the warm memories that you have of her.
No doubt your grief will be with you until the end of your days, however, I admire you for getting back into projects and blogging. There is healing in doing what’s familiar and in doing what you love.
