This Year’s Little Red Dresser along with Lots of other Painted Red Furniture Makeovers at Shizzle

It’s that time of year when everyone is getting ready for the holidays.  Well… not everybody but ready or not, Thanksgiving is only two days away and before we know it, Christmas will be here.

It’s been Christmas for several weeks now at Shizzle.  When you sell home decor, you’re elbows deep in evergreens months before it hits the floor.

For whatever reason, I tend to paint something red around the holidays.  This year was no exception.  We have several fantastic reds across our three paint lines.  This time I I went with APC’s Cannonball & Firework’s Red.  This petite dresser is sealed with Clear and Dark Wax and is now available at our Shizzle Design space within Not So Shabby.  I used Cannonball because it was open but I actually prefer GunPowder as a base color.

I painted this children’s rocking chair simultaneously with the same combo.  The chair is for sale at our Changing Thyme’s location at 2900 Wilson Avenue, Grandville, MI  49418.

Click “Continue” to see a bunch of other pieces we’ve painted red over the years.

If interested in the paint recipes / combos I’ve used on these, comment below and I’ll let you know the specifics.

We’ve had a lot of people choose red at our workshops as well

In loving memory…

  1. Love the items you painted red. I think that is one of my favorite colors. Red just does something to make furniture warm and inviting. Great job.

  2. This has nothing to do with your post but I love how you continue to write as if you are talking for 2 ~ you & your sister. You honor her in every post. Xo

    1. I know I’m doing it but I can’t seem to stop myself from saying “we” or “our”, just doesn’t seem right. I wish I could attach a picture to this reply. I think I’ll add it to the post because the pictures I took the following day had a strange image in them.
