You can now shop Shizzle at our 3rd location in Grand Rapids, MI

I moved into my third location on the North end of Grand Rapids last week.

A good friend of mine talked me into expanding my horizons by placing all my DIY Chalk & Clay paint supplies and Vintiquities Brushes in their amazing new store.

Their family bought a building, completely renovated it in less than three months transforming it from a doctor’s office into a cool new store full of homegoods and hand picked vintage.

They’re big into creating community and one of the neatest twists to their store is the awesome venue space in the back.

Classes and workshops will be offered but this space is also available to rent for things such as bridal or baby showers…  I should have shot a panoramic because this is only half of the back room.

There’s also a kitchenette, bathroom of course and other fun nooks and crannies if you’re looking for a cool venue to rent.  The window side is pretty much all glass which allows for great lighting and I believe it will seat up to 50.  I’m not positive on that but will find out and pass along the info.

I painted this buffet yesterday during the Grand Opening of The Honeysuckle Co.

Thanks so much to all of you who came out for yesterday’s grand opening.  What an amazing turnout!  It was so fun to see so many old friends and to meet so many new and interesting people.  Such a fun day, plus I got a piece painted in the process.  I’ll do my best to get in and finish that this week.  I’m not sure if the buffet will be for sale at The Honey Suckle Co. or Not So Shabby but will let you know.

The Creamy White vintage highboy I recently refinished is also available for sale (below).  Amy literally snagged that out of my workshop last week.   Ummm yeah, I need to wax that bottom drawer.  It felt so smooth, I fooled myself but I knew it hadn’t been waxed yet.  Can somebody say squirrel?

I’m fortunate in that I’ve been asked to teach paint workshops in this amazing space.  Teaching is one of the best parts about my job and after putting that on hold for almost four years, I’m excited to finally have a date on the schedule.  The first furniture painting workshop is scheduled for January 12th.

I’ve enjoyed teaching every class from the workshops I taught at home,

to the free demo’s at our Shizzle Shop

to the workshop taught at Michigan State University

to being Keynote Speakers at the Women’s Expo at Devos

but I’m super excited about the new space to teach at The Honeysuckle Co.

Need paint supplies?

I’m stocked up and The Honeysuckle Co. is officially open for business Tuesday – Saturday, see hours in photo below

  1. I am so proud and happy for you Shellie after some pretty rough times a few years ago. I so admire your spunk, talent and wonderful outlook on life. You inspire us all. Good luck at Honeysuckle. !!

    1. Thanks Joan! I so wish the rough times were over; it’s been so tough for so long now. All I can do is take one day at a time, one minute of a time on most days. So looking forward to brighter seasons in life.
